Overview
Resolute Engineering Group was proud to deliver a complete Solar PV solution for Sugarloaf Nursing Home, a facility committed to both resident wellbeing and environmental sustainability. The project involved the installation of a 54.53kW rooftop solar system, designed to significantly reduce energy costs and carbon emissions.
System Specifications
System Size: 54.53kW
Panels: 133 x Topco 415W high-efficiency solar panels
Inverter: 50kW Solis String Inverter
Mounting System: Schletter Eco Hook – a premium solution ideal for tile and slate roofs, offering strong performance and roof protection.
Design & Execution
The project required careful planning to meet the structural needs of the roof while maximizing solar yield. Our team used the Schletter Eco Hook mounting system, specifically chosen for its compatibility with tiled/slate roofs. This ensured secure panel placement without compromising roof integrity. The 133 Topco 415W panels were strategically arranged to optimise sun exposure and maintain the building’s aesthetics. Power from the system is managed via a 50kW Solis String Inverter, providing efficient energy conversion and long-term reliability.
Results & Benefits
-
Clean Energy Generation: Producing over 50,000 kWh annually, offsetting a large portion of the facility’s energy usage.
-
Cost Savings: Significant reduction in electricity bills, supporting operational cost-efficiency.
-
Sustainability: Reducing the site's carbon footprint and contributing to Ireland’s renewable energy targets.
-
Operational Continuity: The system enhances energy reliability for a facility that relies on uninterrupted power for critical services.
Conclusion
This project reflects Resolute Engineering Group’s commitment to delivering top-tier solar solutions tailored to the needs of healthcare facilities. Sugarloaf Nursing Home now benefits from reduced energy costs, improved sustainability, and long-term energy resilience.
