Solar That Matches Healthcare Energy Use
Healthcare facilities are among the highest energy consumers in the public sector. Lighting, heating, ventilation, cooling and medical equipment run around the clock in hospitals and care homes, while clinics and health centres draw concentrated daytime energy during operating hours. Solar PV generates clean electricity on-site, reducing grid dependence and locking in predictable energy costs for 25 years or more.
Reduced Energy Costs
Generate electricity on-site and offset a significant portion of your facility's grid consumption over 25+ years. Irish business electricity prices remain well above the EU average, making self-generation a strong long-term hedge.
Energy Resilience and Backup
Pair solar with battery storage for a reliable secondary power source that supports critical medical equipment during grid outages and at peak load periods.
Redirect Savings to Patient Care
Every euro saved on electricity is a euro that can be reinvested into frontline services, medical equipment, staffing or facility upgrades.
Meet Climate Action Plan Targets
Ireland's Climate Action Plan sets clear obligations for public sector buildings to reduce emissions. A monitored solar PV system is visible, measurable progress against those commitments.
Bifacial Panels Built for Healthcare Facilities
Resolute installs bifacial (glass-on-glass) panels exclusively, sourced from AE Solar and Longi. They generate from both faces, capturing reflected light from roof surfaces and surrounding hard standing, for a higher annual yield per kWp than conventional panels.
Bifacial panels also carry a superior fire-performance rating compared with standard glass-and-backsheet construction. That rating is particularly important in regulated healthcare environments where building compliance is non-negotiable. Hospitals typically need large-scale rooftop or carport systems; GP surgeries and clinics suit smaller rooftop systems; care homes benefit from solar plus battery storage to reduce overnight grid dependence

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Going Solar from Resolute Engineering Group. As a small family home B&B with many hips, valleys and dormers on main roof and limited space around house required for car parking some imagination was required and Going Solar came up with a plan on a budget to deliver us up to 11,000 kw of power annually via an Anker solid inverter and 20kw of battery, while housing our 25 solar panels on 2 carport structures. On completion the carpark was returned to pre arrival condition and our carbon footprint was slashed by up to 11000 tones a year. On power cuts with change over switch the batteries can keep our home lite for days. Soon Anker app will be updated to automatically fill batteries from any source when Met Eireann issues a red weather warning. Resolute engineering kindly threw in a 21kw zappi 3 phase car charger when doing the install. We had some drama during install that many would have walked from but @ResoluteEngineering @goingsolar saw the project through delivering a finished product any team could be proud of. Yesterday SEAI inspectors called and said top class finish, nothing left out, an install that makes their job easy Thanks to every one who had a part to play in our install at Going Solar @ Resolute Engineering https://resolutegroup.ie/Posted on Google Tom DonagherTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A big thank you to the team for a very efficient and professional install yesterday. We're delighted with our system and surprised to see that our battery charge went from 25% to 79% today with solar alone, despite the awful weather. We also really appreciate the excellent advice on the size of system to go for and the best panel arrangement; we found the consultation process to be technically far superior to the sales talk of the other solar companies we spoke to.Posted on Google Finola O'RourkeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very professional, well installed and easy to work with on grants etc. The panels are working great since installation earlier this year. I would definitely recommendPosted on Google Brian Tonge

Custom Solutions for Sensitive Sites
Sugarloaf Nursing Home, Co. Wicklow
Resolute designed and installed a solar PV system at Sugarloaf Nursing Home, engineered around the round-the-clock energy demands of a working care facility. Heating, lighting and medical equipment run continuously, and the system was sized to reduce overnight grid dependence while keeping energy costs predictable for the long term. Installation was scheduled around resident care to avoid any disruption.
Typical Healthcare Solar Returns
Figures below are modelled for a typical 100 kWp healthcare installation using Irish commercial yield ranges (850 to 950 kWh per kWp per year) and the 2024 average business electricity rate of €0.23 per kWh. Hospitals typically install larger systems, clinics and care homes smaller. Actual performance varies with facility type, load profile and grant funding.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. Our SEAI-certified installers schedule all work to avoid any impact on clinical operations or resident care. Tie-ins and heavy work are completed outside of operating hours, and we coordinate every phase with your facilities team.
The SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant offers up to €162,600 per site for commercial and public sector installations. The Accelerated Capital Allowance provides a full Year-1 tax write-off on qualifying equipment, and the Clean Export Guarantee pays for surplus electricity returned to the grid. Resolute handles the full application process for you.
Timeline depends on system size, roof complexity and the facility’s operational requirements. Most commercial installations are completed within a few weeks of site work, with the full project from first survey to commissioning typically taking 8 to 14 weeks once grant processing and ESB connection paperwork are factored in.
System size depends on your energy consumption, available roof space and budget. Hospitals typically need large-scale rooftop or carport systems, clinics and health centres suit smaller rooftop installs, and care homes benefit from solar paired with battery storage. We determine the right specification during the site survey.
Savings depend on system size, energy usage and grant eligibility. A 100 kWp system on an Irish healthcare facility typically generates 85,000 to 95,000 kWh per year, equivalent to €19,500 to €21,800 in annual electricity savings. We provide a detailed projection after assessing your facility.
Yes. Solar PV panels generate electricity from daylight, not just direct sunshine. Systems in Ireland typically produce strong yields year-round, even on overcast days, and performance is particularly strong during the longer summer days.
Scheduled maintenance visits, real-time performance monitoring, inverter health checks, component replacement, and full lifetime support for the entire 25-year panel guarantee. No other installer in the Irish market offers this.
